For my purposes leasing works because it provides me with these promises:
1) I will always have a vehicle less than 4 years old.
2) I will always have a vehicle with a factory warranty.
3) I will never have to pay for replacement of wear items.
4) I can afford to drive a nicer car than I can afford to buy.
5) Everything on my vehicle will always work flawlessly, and
in the rare chance that something breaks on a 3 year old
Toyota, Honda, etc., it isn't my problem.
6) I will never be without a car due to repairs.
For those of you who don't mind driving cars that aren't less than 3 years old, and don't have a warranty, and don't mind replacing tires and wipers and brakes, and don't mind having sunroofs that are stuck closed for months on end, and don't mind not having a car while your transmission is being replaced, buying is fine. I absolutly hate replacing stuff, and having broken stuff, and not having a car, etc. So buying simply doesn't work for me.
