i was just wondering if since most everyones tour on here tends to have a hard time cooling reliably if anyone has swapped to another type of radiator or a different fan setup. ive thought of running a lincoln mark8 fan if my car has any issues next summer. just thinking out loud here.

IIRC, some have switched to a 160 F thermostat. But the issues with Duratec heating is more of when the WP breaks and that problem can't be fixed with a better radiator or fan.

As for the Zetec, well, I don't know if that might be a good attempt at alleviating the heating issue.

Can't say I've had any problems with my cooling, except when my water pump was on the way out...

Haven't had any problems here. My fans rarely ever turn on unless I am running it hard or standing in traffic.

I do know that whenever I get my car tuned I am getting the fans to turn on earlier.

mine stays constant for the most part. occasionally while sitting at the bank drive thru if im there for a while the temps will go up to the a or l in normal. im not exactly sure why it does this. i did replace my waterpump a few months ago because the stocker turned into shrapnal.

Did you reverse flush the system? There might still be some "shrapnel" left in it clogging up the flow.
