i retract my "impossible concept" statement. in its place i would like to substitute "[censored] ridiculous concept." thank you.

They answered your question with a detailed explination, what doesnt make since is that you keep asing the EXACT same question and we tell you "NO. You CANNOT do that" You say you are ready to mess with the motor, but dont want to... mess with it... That doesnt make any sense. Everybody loves the sound of a BOV, but what everybody loves MORE is the POWER you get from why you HAVE a BOV.... Hum... Personally, I wouldn't spend $2000+ on a custom turbo kit JUST to get the sound of a BOV. That would be recockulious. If you love the sound of a BOV, but dont want to spend a lot of money, Sell your contour, and buy an Eagle Talon TSI and put an aftermarket BOV on it. Problem solved.

Well put. I didn't put a full custom turbo kit on my Escort for a PSSSHHHTT. It was a added bonus. You add positive manifold pressure for horsepower gains - no one turbo's a car for the sound. If you have the engery, intelligence, and money to turbo a car, you are after higher performance, not a cool sound. I reaserched and read about turbos, A/F ratio's, timing and boost control for over a year and then began to collect parts for my project. I had never heard the Greddy Type-S BOV I bought until I was done with the project, but it is surely an added bonus to shifting after you spool up the turbo.

I my opinion, if you have a BOV that is loud, it serves as a method to show off you turbo. A BOV without a turbo would be like a computer without a power supply, like a mechanic without tools, like a Honda without a fart tube, like a ...

Also, you are right, this is a great site for Contour information. I looked for a while and this site rocks for Contour troubleshooting and performance info. I can just imagine this "professional forum" that has how to's on how to hook a BOV to an air compressor and holding tank with a purge valve.

Here you go, buy yourself a little cheapy air compressor out at walmart for 50 bucks get a small air hose for it, and a air gun for it, and put it under your dash, hook it up to your gas pedal so when you let off, it'll push the trigger on it, and you can also hook a microphone to the bottom of the dash with the nozzle pointing at it and a speaker running under the hood. BRAVO you have BOV!

Serously man, WTF are you thinking, and this site is the best site for Contour information out there (well one of the best) These guys gave me ideas and helped out with things I could not figure out. I'm not trying to be an ass but this is what you should expect to hear if you ask dumbass questions like this.

no. i feel horrible having to correct a rice-BOV plan, but that is incorrect. the BOV doesnt sound off everytime you let off the throttle. only when there is positive pressure going to the intake.

Doh! Thanks Andrew.
Well he could do something like that just keep adding pressure every so often to the tank.

Good thinking, without ricers, what would we all make fun of?

I think the next "mod" he wants to do is the fake spinner rims from wal-mart.

I'll never forget talking to this one girl who claimed to know a lot about cars (in other words, she dated a few ricers). She suggested to a friend of mine that he install a blowoff valve on his (stock) Corvette. She actually started yelling at me when I tried to explain why that would be utterly pointless since there's no pressure for it to blow off.

However she did go on to make fun of him for buying a Corvette with a slushbox; there's really no arguing against that.

Okay guys I think he gets the point. So please let this thread die now before it becomes a freakin war. Besides we really shouldn't discourage new members too much or they will stop showing up. We just need to mold them in our likeness. lol
