It's very possible, just takes a long long time. Anyways comparing to other cars is stupid. I have a basically stock escort that will top it's 120mph speedo out pretty easily, but that doesn't have anything to do with a contour.
I doubt it. Mustang GTs of the late 80s were good for only about 135mph. And the CSVT is good for 143mph - drag limited. Like the other guy said - must be heavily modded. Only 10mph difference in drag limited top ends with around 70hp difference?
Again, comparing to other cars doesn't matter.
I'm telling you, an auto zetec can hit 130. It takes forever, but it is very possible. Believe it or not.
or not
Im betting that your performance mods won't begin to get close to making the HP needed to get your power-to-weight ratio up enough that you'll gain 15 or so mph on the top end. We're dealing with the facts of physics - thats why a 200hp CSVT peters-out at 143mph when it hits its drag limit. I've probably done more performance mods and I'm guessing that my top-end might have increased 2 mph - maybe. You'd need major mods not an inaccurate speedometer to go by.
