You could carefully pull up a little of the ding strip on each door and see. If the ding strip is warm enough it won't keep the curled up shape. All of my ding strips are flat, sitting in my garage, but they curled pretty bad when I took them off. The chances of the car being repainted are pretty slim, but they are there. My old Focus had its frontend repainted at 4500 miles.
Mine was repainted, I know that the different levels of paint are there. Its noticeable
if I point it out. I am happier with how the car looks without them.
