Just so I don't scare this guy let me agree a little bit and say it is about crafstmanship. If you have the time and you choose to optimize it....it definitely can't hurt unless you screw it up. It also looks very nice, and as he said it could help throttle response. Mostly though, IMO it's like putting that extra coat of polish on the car.
