Well, I think what everyone is trying to say is the dude lied to to you, and screwed you out of some money.

For the color, I did a quick job on it--

Cannot post from geocities.

Agent orange was Silver with some Orange in the front, but a regular orange, not the Focus color.

Don't SVT Contour engines already have special pistons and rods? Could be he put in stuff you already had.....in other words, D'OH!

IN the early 98 models of the contour svtford had put weak rist pins in the block which means easy to throw a rod. That is why i had them replaced anyway.

Sorry to say it man, but the guy took your money unless he can provide you legitimate receipts and part #'s from ford racing. Trust me on this as I did get custom rods for my 3L and also searched for aftermarket pistons (none made currently). Rods were $1100 and pistons would be just a little less. For the $1300 he probably figured you wouldn't question it too much whereas the real cost of $2300 +/- would make most people ask a few questions.

In any case go to the shop and request to see part #'s and receipts for the parts he said he put into your engine. It is possible he used the stock ford SVT engine parts- piston assemblies are roughly $200/ea at this time. If he wrote down that these are ford racing products then it's a scam if he wrote down ford parts then he's got you.
