just a quick query--is there any reason I couldn't tint my tail lights? There's a new black Audi A6 runnin around town that has tail lights that look "smoked," and I was wondering if it would be feasible to do on the 'tour. Any hang-ups I might run into? Would it look ghetto (if it looks tacky, it doesn't go on the car), would anyone be nice enough to photoshop this up for me? Thanks for readin laugh

i know there are a couple of companys that make "smoke" paint. Just prep the surface like normal and then paint. It give that tinted look. Looked good on a couple of cars i've seen. but i like the tour just the way it is!

The A6 may have aftermarket taillights that are tinted. As far as I know there aren't any aftermarket taillights for the Contours.

Other than that I don't know, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I know this won't be much help, but there is at least one person on the site with tinted tails, seems i saw a pic of them somewhere, looked pretty good. I believe his car was silver, maybe he'll chime in or post some pics....

This probably won't help much, but one of the european sites on contour.org, I remember seeing a spray-on taillight tint. Just spray it on to tint it up.

P.S. My tour hit the 150,000 mile mark this morning!

sweet deal, that might be exactly what I'm looking for! cool I'm assuming that you can make it lighter/darker depending how many coats you put on. I'm looking for a very subtle change.

Yea that is 3 light coats. I could have gone darker. I put it on a heavy as I could on the third light in the wing, that way when its not lit you can't really see it.
