I used to work for a dialup ISP. It employed about 60 people, and not a single coworker I knew had dialup at home. The general manager held out for a long time because he didn't think it was right to take the paycheck that fed his family and use it to help the competition, but even he caved eventually.
The owner of the company had to dial in from a hotel once. He said "This is awful! I feel bad for selling this crap to people!"
