I can't remember what it was called. Something like Tail Light Tint.
It was like a thin black paint.

theres some stuff called 'nightshades' that i've used in the past, but it sucks, in my opinion.
Testors has some translucent enamel paint for model car windows, someone on the site used that, i'm sure it has a much better finish than the night shades (Being an enamel) and it probably sticks a lot better.

I believe somewhere on the Summit Racing website they have it. I was looking at the catalog last night and it had the tint in it.

Yeah any type of coating will reduce light output, so it will not throw as much light. Could get rear ended!

I like the way the tail lights look, along with the rest of the car, for that matter--just looking for something a little different.
