Just wondering if the front bumpers on Mystiques and Contours are interchangable... Never really gotten a chance to examine both closely, but due to the difference in grilles....

I'll warn you first, people get bent out of shape here if you dont do a search first.
If I remember right they do not match up because of the grill is different. Don't quote me on that but I think its right.

The 98+ bumpers are different but can be interchanged. The grille on the Mystique has the same kind of dip as the Contour's oval. IIRC someone put an SVT front bumper on a 98+ Mystique a while back. It was later totalled by a shop mech that went for a joyride.

i would think the bumpers would be interchangable, it's just the hoods that don't match up.

Hmm.. Now I have heard from a lot of people that the Mystique front bumper is NOT interchangable with the Tour. The grill dips down a little bit, and I have also heard he headlights are in a more forward position... A mod tht I want to do is to put an SVT bumper on my front, so if anyone knows for sure that it can be done with out remolding the bumper at all, let me know. If not I am looking into a project similar to Michas with the pre-98 front ends, so we will see what happens...
