Yeah, I just changed mine like an hour ago, and put on another PureOne. It seems to be doing an alright job, but I don't know if there are any problems with it.

PureOne is same/possibly slightly better than motorcraft and usually cost less. I have motorcraft on my contour and pureone on my escort right now. I haven't looked at the K&n for the contour lately, but when I looked at the one for the escort, it's smaller than pureone/purolator/motorcraft filter. I like having a bigger filter.

Don't waste money on a fram. Although some of their higher line ones may be OK, still not worth it. The PureOne is OE quality, has a 98% efficieny rating or whatever it is, and the silicone antidrainback valve or whatever it is.

Cool. This is the second PureOne I've put on so far. I haven't had any problems yet. The Motorcraft filter was much cheaper though. It was between the PureOne and the Motorcraft. I've heard bad things about Fram from many people. The only thing that's a Fram on my car is the 3" open-style air filter.

Yeah I guess it depends on where you get it what filter it is.
I can't tell if the motorcraft is same as purolator or pureone. They all are very similar and obviously (when you compare them) made by the same company. Just without cutting open, I guess sorta impossible to tell if the motorcraft has same number of pleats as the purolator or as the pureone.
You know what's weird, my little filters for the escort cost more than the big ones for the contour. $6 for pureone, $8 for motorcraft... I think motorcraft for my contour is around $5.

Wal mart never has my contour or escort filter. They may have 98+ contour filters though.

My PureOne was $5.88, the Motorcraft was $3.44. I think a cross-section of a Motorcraft is in order...

Motorcraft = base model purolator.
The PureOne is a slight step above.

I use Mobil 1 filters (formerly a K&N user).
Mobil 1 has a very good reputation.
I think Wix makes the Mobil filters. (could be wrong)
Since I buy a case of oil at the same time I get the filter for $1.
