I tested my cam sensor for continuity also. It too is open. I had taken the area of fuel charging harness connectors out of the car for a closer inspection. The sheilding for the crank sensor was completely in pieces, the wires going into the connector at the CKP have the insulation cracking in many spots. It still had continuity from where the line ends at connector 179. I ordered a new harness for approx. $600 (hopeing to get remembursment from Ford)
I am thinking when I tried to restart the car with the old harness the wires shorted out and killed the CKP? But the Cam sensor wires looked ok, so I really don't see why it too shows no continuity? Hense my question, am I tested them correctly?
