I was wondering if the inside of the pre98 headlights can be painted(like the 98+ can)? Or would it be easier to get headlight covers? If so where can I get them?

I have a red car with a black bra on the front and the headlights are just too flashy.

If you were to remove the headlamps, you could always paint around the headlamp like this:



Consider the red is the paint that you can see directly. The green paint is what would be reflecting through the housing. If you did body color, or black it would give the headlamps a slight tint. If you wanted to get creative you could always open them up and paint them from the inside. That way you wouldn't have to worry about them chipping.

It wouldn't get in the way of the light that covers the road. It would just get rid of the stray light, but would probably clean up the front of the car a little.

Just a thought.

Better yet why don't you invent clear covers for the pre 98's. I'm not very mechanically inclined otherwise I would make an atempt at it.
PS I would purchase a set if you or anyone else woudl make such a thing

I am for this idea as well. However whomever does it will have to have some decent equipment. They will have to redesign the reflector in order to make it all shine correctly.

For quite some time I have seen this Chevy Prizm in my parking garage in the mornings and have thought how neat the headlights look. They look like they would be a close match to the pre 98 Contour's headlight, too. I am willing to bet with a little modification/fabrication you could get these to fit.

What do you think? If someone is willing to send me at least one of each headlight for a kind of grafting, I would at least try it.

Well the headlights for the Chevy Prizm and the Toyota Corolla are going to be the same or damn near.

LOL thats a good one...too flashy, puhlease! I never heard that one before...you must be OLD school.

Then we have to run 9004 or 9007 bulbs. Icky.

Would look damn cool though.

No MystiCali, I'm not OLD school. The front is almost all black and with the headlights being flashy, it looks really bad and I don't like it. I think it would look a lot better if they had some black in side of it or just with black headlight covers.
