APT, thanks for the links. I think I have a grasp of this, but I have one more question. When you're applying multiple coats, do go from Z-2 to Z-5 to Z-2 to Z-5 with Z-6 in between or do you do multiple coats of Z-5 over and over then move to Z-2 again over and over until you're satisfied?
I appreciate everyone's help on this.
To answer your question, yes, use Z-6 spray between polishes of Z-2/Z-5/Z-1.
To quote Sal on this:
- Z-7 wash
- Z-18 Claybar
- Dawn
- Z-1 Polish Lok
- Z-5 for swirls & scratches
wait at least 24 hours- Apply another coat of Z-5 if needed.
"If 2 coats of Z-5 does not do the job, use 3M Swirl Remover." - Sal recommends it over Z-5 for getting out heavier swirls and scratches.
- Z-2 for clearcoat.
After this point, it's really up to you what combination you use.
I do Z-2, Z-2, Z-2, Z-2, Z-5, Z-2, Z-2, Z-2, Z-2, Z-5, Z-1. Using the ZFX will eliminate the need for Z-1.
Sal:
"Every 11th coat should be Z-1 Polish Lok to tighten up the system. And use the Z-6 between each coat."It's easier to use, no dust, repellent qualities are excellent. Good luck!
