Well i finally spun a bearing and time to do the 3.0L swap
i bought a 02 sable motor w/ 32K on it

Well got my heads back from the shop

they port matched my split-port to oval heads.
St200 valve springs and a valve job( 3 angle vavle job)
I got all the svt cams torqued down and and all the large pitch timing componets installed.

I theink i might have confused myseld when i was ordering my parts
my question is
I bought the 5L8Z-6675-AA oil pan. when i was sitting the new pan on the engine the pickup was hitting the pan. did i need to also order the other pickup or did the 02 sable motor come with it?

i went on demon's site and got the PN

YL8Z-6622-BA 01+ Upgraded Windage Tray (req 01+ main studs)

YL8Z-6687-AA 01+ Upgraded Oil Pickup (req 01+ main studs)

You need to either use the pickup off the 2.5L or order a new one. You can't use the one from the sable.

An 01 or older 2.5L engine will not have the correct oil pickup to work with the YL8Z windage tray & new studs.

Spend the $15 and buy the revised pickup.

You need the tray too. The YL8Z pickup mounts in different place at a different height. The new main stud provides the correct height. The newer windage tray has the pickup mounting location relocated.

He already has an 01+ 3L engine from a Sable. It will have the new tray and studs.
