We could start a list of people that have put multiple manual trannies in this car. I'm on MTX-75 #3.

Have you ruled out a '95SE? That's what I have and love it! And from what I've read over the past couple of months, quite a few people around here seem to think that was one of the best Contours made... I figure by now you can find a '95SE MTX dirt cheap. Just replace the water pump and you should be fine!

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.
There's money to be made in racing. I should know. I put a lot of it there.

i would get a 95se i like the 98 and up better since the front lights have a sportier look.. I like the contours styling and it drives well and is in my price range plus im a ford fan.. Im a little worried about the number of these cars that have tranny problems taht scares me im a college student and cant afford to put a new tranny in a car if it goes.. But then again i hear alot of peopel sayn i got 100,000 miles trouble free. My 92 tempo was demmed a piece of **** all my firends said it was a pile of crap but taht little car impressed me gave e 1yr and baout 16000 miles i paid 600 bucks for it and i didnt drop 1 penny into it then the clutch faiked but it did have about 70000 miles on it

if u buy a newer contour say the 99 like u mentioned and get the extended warranty...if the tranny fails u're covered...all cars have problems and i've racked up almost 20k miles in one yr...my tranny went in jan but was replaced under my used car warranty....find yaself a v6 and happy motoring

95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!!
are my dodgers for real????
