I hate itunes, its a worthless program for windows.
What do you use. I hate iTunes as well and it hurt to install it on my PC. I would like it to go away.

I have something much better... Creative Zen Touch 20 GB... Price was much lower than a 20 GB iPod and more reliable. Does have a longer battery life I rarily charge it... And I dont need [censored] iTunes to use it OH! And if I have 2 PC's, I can transfer songs straight off my Zen touch to my hard drive. And my nice Credit Card didnt get a huge workout from buying it. Apple knows how to overprice anything and build it to the cheapest standards

I don't understand the fascination. Maybe someone can help me... At work I have a computer which, of course, can play music if I am so inclined. In the car I have a CD/DVD player and a radio. At home I have a CD changer, home theater, etc.
Why do I need an i-Pod? It seems that I can listen to music everywhere that I go, with the exception of walking from my car to the house/work. Do you guys have headphones on while walking through the mall or grocery store? I just don't get it. Is it some kind of status thing?

I've been thinking about getting a Nano, since the indoor running season will be starting soon, and it seems like it might work with lifting as well. I rarely buy the new, over-hyped gadgets though. So I'll have to see.

I guess runners would benefit, but I seriously doubt that a significant percentage of i-Pod owners fall in to that category.

Go to a college campus or ride public transportation and you'll see who the iPods are for. I think it's kind of dumb to be listening to music in public; I like to hear my surroundings. But I understand why someone may want to be plugged into music 24/7. My use for portable music is in the gym, but even then anything over 528MB is excessive for me. So I see your point, but they aren't completely useless to everyone.

Is this a new thing in the past year or so? I just graduated last year and I don't remember seeing anyone with i-Pods in college.
