Overall, I'll give you that he was the best "Bond" package so far, but if acting chops and REALLY lining the character up with how Ian Flemming wrote Bond, Dalton kicks everyone into the bog. It's just too bad he didn't have the "look".
I think this has more to do with the time period that the actors performed in. During Conery's reign the judo chop was macho and very impressive. In our time it became a joke and lame.
Conery is far and away the best example as he was the best looking and most suave.
