That's great. I guess he is still quite a celebrity over there though, right?

bmwfilms.com They are shorts using various BMW cars. Very cool IMO, neat driving and exciting. The season 2 ones are much better; they are free to download on that site btw.

im a huge Bond fan. unfortunately, I think Brosnan missed his opportunity thanks to stoopid RS these movies were, meh. die another day sucked. i would actually prefer it if they just killed him off instead of ruining the legacy.

it started going downhill with Goldeneye. Women resisting his charm and Judi Dench as M???!! wtf?! she plays her part well, she is a fantastic actor, but calling Bond a relic of the pre-historic age of MI6 and blah blah blah.. not to mention Denise Richards playing a nuclear physicist they are trying to appeal to the younger crowd (like Lucas ahem) but its turing off the real enthusiasts. ever since Broccoli died Hollywood has grabbed ahold of the reigns

dont get me wrong, there were some very good points about the Brosnan films, but most of the film(s) were garbage with storylines. i just cant connect with them. wtf was with that special Jaguar with the guns and rockets? come on, this is espionage, not the Xmen

Timothy Dalton was a great, no-nonsense Bond. that is what they need. Brosnan had some moments like that. I read that in Die Another Day they were going to have Bond break down in tears in front of a shrink.

trivia ?:
anyone know where the name James Bond came from? and who he is modeled after?

Quote:

The look of James Bond is famed for being "suave and sophisticated." In Casino Royale the character Vesper Lynd says of Bond, "He reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael, but there is something cold and ruthless." Carmichael would later be the basis as James Bond for artist Mike Grell and his series of James Bond comic books, while the Hoagy Carmichael description would be repeated in later Bond stories written by John Gardner.

Exactly. In terms of pure performance, Dalton had the dark, brooding and restrained temper thing down cold. He was by far and away my favorite Bond in terms of acting ability, but he certainly didn't possess the complete "look and feel" of Bond.

The CGI orgies that the post-production folks engage in with the Bond movies needs to stop and they will hopefully get back to compelling story lines, solid action and interesting villians instead of the rehashed, repackaged ones of old...

I'm not going to hold my breath for this, though.
