I'll have the results up soon, but after 44000 miles on my SVT using Mobil 1 and K&N filters, my Blackstone report basically indicated that the engine is in perfect condition. To be perfectly honest, I would really be interested in knowing how much of a difference a Fram makes. On your next oil change, send a sample to Blackstone. If their report comes back clean, you'll be able to back up your claims. Otherwise, take the drive and get the better filter.

I have the Purolator on now. And I don't know if my Advanced has Fram. But how can I determine my engine condition/quality when I have not had consistent Fram or Motorcraft or iff ube filters? As far as I know, it had Motorcraft until 50K, then it was iff ube (whatever filters, they use) and Motorcraft until the the last two oil changes, one Fram and one Purolator. .. and it was/is my opinion on the 3k/3mths.

Autolite plugs as mentioned. Proper gapping is crucial.

I use Magnecor Competition wires. Great, but expensive.

No preference on fuel filter.

As far as oil filters, I will never use Fram again. I had a Fram filter basically crumble in my hands after 4500 miles of useage. I don't drive hard at all. Now use Motorcraft or Mobile 1 only.

LOL. Regular petroleum oil extracted from the ground (from prehistoric/dinosaur times, compressed from leaves or trees, etc.) as opposed to synthetic (lab designed/manufactured).

Joker.. that is why this site is able to provide CONCISE and ACCURATE answers to your questions.. It was this way about

"Is a K&N filter good for my Contour?"
"What kind of waterpump won't break", and
"What spark plugs are the best for our ignition system?" pushing 6 or more years ago.

So much so, that now we are able to state very matter-of-factly what the "best" (yeah, yeah.. shove it naysayers) is.

I'd PREFER that, than two answers of "I use Fram!" and "I use Mobil 1" and dropping it.

What go you know about Autolite's Extreme Performance and Racing plugs? Good or lame choices for the CSVT? I haven't even checked to see if they even have an application for my car yet.

The Autolite XP plug looks promising. It is a fine wire plug with an iridium center tip and a platinum side wire. So far they seem to be overpriced. If they come down a bit I might try them on my next plug change. That's a ways away. Athough MSRP is something like $7.50 a plug IIRC, Pep Boys want $13.95 each.

My complaint with the Motorcraft fine wire plug is that the side wire is conventional, not platinum.
