Been using Fram filters all my life not one problem yet. I dont know why everyone knocks them. They've been in the busines since 1934 so I guess they are doing something right.
Oh and as far as a tune-up goes you want to do the usual stuff(plugs, wires, fuel filter etc.) as well as remove the UIM and clean that as well as the LIM and TB. Some people leave the UIM on and work around it, but I have gotten into the habit of removing it and cleaning it along with the regular tune-up.
