All of you helpful eyes and fingers...

Right now I have a pressure gauge connected where the Schrader valve goes (before the fuel regulator) so it couldn't be a fuel regulator problem because the pressure reading is before the regulator.

The only thing I can think of is an Obstructed fuel line because I already changed the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel return valve in the sender and the fuel pressure still drops from 55psi down to 10psi.

Will like to know from you experts out there if there's an element in the Engine system that may signal the ECU or the fuel pump to drop pressure.

Please Help... desperately...

Thanks a Zillion!

Don't know if there is any difference in a Mondeo.

The pump pressure is controlled by the computer as measured by the fuel pressure sender in a non-return system. The fuel pressure is calculated by load as measured by RPM, throttle position, and air intake.

The big question is what does the pressure do as the engine is started. It should fall by 12 psi or so as the engine fires up if it runs long enough to see. If it does not I would say either the fuel pressure sender is bad or the box driving the pump. If it falls to low as the engine runs, that should mean you have a flow problem. Take the line off and feed it into a can so you can measure and compare to the pump flow rating. What the pressure does after it dies is probably of no concequence.

I don't think the problem is your fuel pressure...though of course I could be wrong.........

One key item is you start having problems after the engine heats up.

I'd test crank and cam position sensor, ECT unit and TPS unit. Also check ignition coil. check all of this after your engine has heated up and the problem is at hand.

Changed the Fuel pump the car runs better now, apparently my mechanic replaced the pump with a mistaken one.

My car still stumbles and doesn;t run smooth at low revs, like when stoping at a stop sign and stepping on the gas...
