I want to change my 4lug bolt pattern to a 5lug some guy told me for his mustang he just used the axels from A 86" BroncoII I would like to know if I could do the same for my contour do could anyone help me

contour is FWD, taking axles from a rear wheel drive vehicle would be entirely different.

Well, teh mustang and bronco are rear wheel drive. THe contour is FWD and has an independant rear (no solid axle). Can't swap axles without HEAVY EXTENSIVE modification.

Th eonly way to have a 5 lug patter is to have the hubs custom made or swapped from another car. Not a clue which will work, I just know you can't put a rear end in a contour for that sole purpose of having 5 lugs.

Well.. again, this isn't a "bolt on thing". You may beable to use the hubs from an X-type Jag or a New 05 Mondeo. Neither are cheap and the MOndeo hubs will be a PITA to get ahold of.

What is the purpose of doing this? If it's abotu wheels, it would be cheaper to have some one fill the holes and redrill them. Also, you have the issue of swapping in another cars hubs causing terrible offset problems. I found a place near me that would fill the holes (weld them), redrill the holes to the propper offset, etc, and refinsih the rim for abotu 160 bucks each. Chrome or powdercoated wheels were a bit more than 250.00 each to have done.

If you are wanting a style rim that is new, and you are buying from the manufacturer, a simple phone call to ask them to drill a 4x108 lug pattern will probably yeild you with a good result.

yes I wanted to go with bigger wheels right now am station in germany so its kind of hard to find parts but I think my boy know of a ford dealer ship somewhere in frankfurt

as for a body kit could I just use the svt kit

You do know they make 17's, 18's, 19's, and 20's predrilled to fit the Contour, right?


As far as swapping hubs and what not, do what you like. I'm just telling you, be preppared to spend thousands to get this to work, including a TON of asparin.

Oh gosh, anywhere, really. The rims are a 4x108 lug pattern.

GO on Ebay and type in 4 x 108, you'll pull up wheels. Look in our classifieds section , several sets in there.
