The other night I was limping my Tour to my new home and the motor totally blew apart this time. I will capture some pics of the damage and show in about a week or so. It shifted my A/C compressor and put a hole through the block and pan!! Now I need to find a 2.5 to throw in the car for now so I can get her driving again. Hey any of you guys in MN have a spare 2.5 lyinf around?? lol I will build a 3.0 in the future but for now need to get my car running again ASAP.

How many miles were on your car? Were there any signs before it blew? Dash lights?

Yeah I had a warning. The motor started knocking first and the she blew. I have 140,000 plus.

putting in a 2.5 doesnt make any sense to me at all. Do a 3L man. If you're in a pinch and just want it running again, do a hybrid.

I checked local junkyards and got an engine for $400 - blew after 10k. Next one was $900 with a warranty - had 60k, now has 90k and still runs perfectly. Intall was ~$500 both times. Just pull out the Yellow Pages and call everyone listed.

Someone did it, but I dont know if it is as easy or not, maybe it is. Worth looking into. Its such a shame to replace a motor and NOT do a 3L when the results are what they are!

Yes it is. the block is the same as the 2.5L block.
