Also, lose the ding strips if you can.
FWIW bugs are a devil to remove from the crevices on the front bumper; I hated to use it but solvent was often the only way to remove residue completely.
As boxy and conservative those Olds were they just had a certain appeal. From the unique headlights to the taillight/spoiler combination (that was only on those verts and 3.4 equipped coupes of '96 and '97 IIRC) GM got it right IMO. I'm VERY envious, that is a beautiful, beautiful car!!! And the seats!
Thanks!
I don't plan on doing much to it but keeping it maintained and pretty. I registered onthe W-Body forums last year and those nutjobs are a big help. Talk about fanatical!
I inspected the Timing belt prior to purchase and it looked to have been replaced once, the car has just over 105K miles on her so if we average 5K miles in her I'm guessing it will be a few years before we need to replace it and I'm guessing we will only keep it for a couple of years, unless I decide to do the L68 engine upgrade 3.8L SC would quit the cars style nicely!

But honestly, what can you expect...... its a Contour board
Funny you said this in another thread. I got rid of my 95 Cutlass Supreme Coupe about a year ago, which was my beater. And you want to consider Contours as beaters. Funny how people's perception of different cars vary.

I would of kept the 240, more rare... more reliable, those 3.4 DOHC motors are crap.
I've replaced 2 blowns ones at my shop in the past 2 months already

Good choice. That's one of the few GM designs I like. They look so amazing in black with 5 spoke chrome's.

Why we ditched the 240SX: plastic rear window ridiculously small back seat tiny trunk no leather no airbags no ABS
While the 3.4L DOHC motor does have many issues I'm hoping the gremlins stay away like they have in my C-SVT. Many would say to stay the hell away from the C-SVT for its motor issues but I've had mine almost 6-yrs with only 1-minor issue.

Good luck with the trans-axle. GM can't gear a FWD car for the life of them. After losing a Century's trans-axle, I will never touch a GM front-drive with a 4-speed auto. I've never felt a car so powerful in 1st and than so sluggish in 3rd. The 3.1 was the only part I liked about the car. Sadly, that was how the old '88 Gutless was. Great motor (3800) but the entire car fell apart around it. Be ready to be fixing brakes sensors. At least the white interior looks nice.

Nice pick! I really like the higher-end 90s W-Bodies. Especially the gadgets you could get on them like the heads-up display, trip computer, digital dash, etc. I'm a sucker for that stuff. The only problem I have with them is the 3.4 isn't the mose reliable engine around, and 5-speeds are so hard to find that for all intents and purposes they don't exist. And I don't see too many well-equipped models around; most have the crappy tweed seats, 3.1, column shifter, etc. Yecch.
