Fuse F-23 15 amp feeds a VT/BK (six wire connector plugs into ) to the Electronic Variable Temp Door Motor and three wires (wh/bk, ye/bk & Bn/ye) go between the temp knob and the EVTDM.
EVTDM is located to left of blower motor faces the towards passenger side. Should be able to unplug the connector and with a ohm meter see fixed resistance ye/bk & Bn/ye. With one lead on Wh/bk and the other lead to either ye/bk or Bn/ye you should see the resistance vary the opposite of each other on the ye/bk & Bn/ye. Saves pulling the knob unless is what is bad. I have yet to have a failure on my 98 but it seem to me the EVTDM has failed in the past?
I'm looking at the fine Ford manual and it's electrical diagrams.
This is good to learn about though, I hate winter more and more. Hi Hi
If it wasn't cold now I'd run out in the garage, but isn't there a shaft that protrudes the can be turned manually to move the door? Been a couple years since I've had to get under there, and I don't miss it.
