Give people a 'right', and it gets out of hand.

They are basically making a law that you can commit murder legally and get away with it. Make up some stupid excuse of how he was "threatening you and then you wont get charged."

Kmart will ID me for buying their bullets

Taking my kid's hunting, teaching them proper gun safety, and in general spending time with them. Yeah bad idea.

I'm sure canada has crime too. If I decide to protect myself than that's my choice and a good one at that. You'll have to wait for a guy on a horse to come save you.

Hahha. Yeah, it's so out of hand.

No. You should learn about our legal system. Heck, just look at our judicial branch for about 5 minutes and you'll realize how stupid of a statement you made.

When you can drink alcohol at 18 in canada, that's when it's screwed up.

When marijuana bars are allowed to operate (I know this is changing) in BC, that's when it's screwed up.

When a country relies on another country for its over all well-being, that's when it's screwed up.

Canada is just like the little brother to the US that tries so hard to look and be like big bro.

PS are some words spelled differently in Canada than they are in the US? like how some are in England?

Kremit and svt4stv: It's not Canada that's different, it's the US. (And FWIW .. drinking age here was 18 till the mid 70s IIRC ... )

I can deal with snow, but were it not so cold up there I think I'd be living in Canada by choice.

NO. If that happens, we'll take our guns & go up there & TAKE what we need.

It's true, I swear!!

I'm down here in West Palm Beach and I can't turn around without my shotgun barrel hitting some homocidal maniac (with a gun who is about to kill me) in the head.

It's CHAOS!! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NOT

Get a grip Mad Medeiros. You are waaaay out of line & prone to sucking up liberal hogwash. Don't let some guy with an adgenda who wrote a flyer do your thinking for you. You make it sound like the law is putting MORE guns into the hands of criminals, when it is written & intended to allow us good guys to help each other & the police. If you don't have your handgun registered or a conceil/carry permit, you go to jail.

Previous laws placed liability on the good guys for trying to help. They allowed the families of violent criminals who are hurt or killed while committing violent crimes to sue any person involved in trying to prevent or stop the violent crime. The good citizens had every reason to turn the other way while others were victimized. Criminals & their families had the protection of greedy trial lawyers under the old law. This new law fixes that injustice. The crime rate will go down in this state, not up. You'll see. I'll be here to help make sure of it.

Mad medierioesoiesois....why don't you like the US? Why do you care so much since you are obviously so safe in Canada.

just because Canada is such a safer country.

because acually.. it is, every single gun we carry needs to be registered, and no.. we can't shoot another person like you can in florida... we pay out of our asses in taxes (that rhymes) but at least I don't have to worry about people every where around me carrying guns.

btw MAPOSTAZIZASAES

when did I ever say I don't like the us you big bastered... I'm 1/3 american foolish bafoon.

Well I must say Mad_Medeiros is making the rest of us canucks on here look bad. I think one of the big reasons we have lots of guns and not as much crime involved with guns is because 90 perecent of the guns owned in canada are shotguns, rifles, etc. You rarely see handguns unless your in Toronto. That and the whole population of canada could be squeezed into New York. The gun registry was a Liberal party blunder to try to make it look like they were tough on gun crime. Too bad criminals dont register guns and now its around the 2 billion dollar mark (not even finished either) I dont think many canadians like or want the registry.

As for the trade discussion...Both countries are joined at the hip for trade. Isnt it something like 1 billion dollars crosses the border every day? Both countries would be very hurt if the border was shut.

Hmmm, did I forget anything....

Our economies are linked. If you think we will fall without taking you with us, you know nothing about economics.

Oh wait, that is obvious already.

Actually, Mr. Wulf, You are coorect in your assertation that our two economies are linked. However, Canada's economy is quite strong. Start by looking at the USD V. CDN:

$1USD=
Jan 2003 = $1.57CDN
Jan 2004 = $1.31CDN
Jan 2005 = $1.21CDN

While it seems to have leveled off, the growth is there. Foriegn interest in Canada continues to grow (ex. $800M Toyota, $1.2B GM investements over the next 3 years)Look up CDN GDP (Between 1997 and 2003, GDP growth in the Canadian economy increased at a rate of 3.6% per year. ) - I'm not an Economist (but I read The Economist *Homer voice "Boring" /end Homer voice ), not a great picture, but it has potential if you ask me.

As for potential, there is more oil under the cental Canadian shale fields than all of the middle east combined. It only a matter of cost/time before it's exploited to the benefit of all of North America.

OT & BTW, I cant post them here, but search some pictures of Canadian babes. They might lesbians, but there are some serious numbers of hotties north of the border. As to the number of Gays in Canada, I think % wise the US is leading that race -
