I know I'm posting this kind of late (date wise) but I took off the pin stripes on my contour and they were a PITA. I know you guys will call me stupid or something similar, but I *CAREFULLY* used a razor blade and some rubbing alcohol mixed with water 50/50 and it took them off. A little rubbing compound took off any gunk that was left.
You can try that but be very very very careful.
