and pray like hell he doesn't have any mods. My first car was a '90 GS Turbo - one of the first ones ever sold (bought in 12/88). 1st and 2nd gears, it was definitely faster than the SVT. The GS Turbo's and later GS-T's were faster than the GSX's due to the weight advantage.
However, stock at least, I can vouch for the SVT and turbo DSM cars being relatively even from 3rd gear on. Problem is, mods on those cars are so cheap that the odds of coming across a stock one aren't so much in our favor. And yes, the SVT handles better than my DSM did - no independent suspension on my Eclipse, but I forget if the AWD cars had them.
