A Poll

My girlfriend and I were discussing moving in together and getting a dog. My opinion of a "dog" is a Lab or a retreiver or a dog of that sort. Something between "Murray" from mad about you and "Lassie."
Her opinion of a "dog" is something called a "Toy Maltese."
A small dog with fur that is more akin to human hair and can fit in small places.

The question we're arguing is this:

If your can walk into a store with a full grown dog in your arms or in your pocket book, and you do NOT get asked to leave for having a dog with you, is it really a "dog."

Puppy Poll:
Yes: My pooch gets me a 2 for 1 deal at the beautician

No, A dog is not a "toy"

I think both are dogs. I have had "bigger" dogs but my 2 latest dogs are Duke, a miniature pinscher and Spunky, a bison frise. Little dogs mean less crap to clean up....trust me.

I'm all about the Labradors (my dog is a black Lab mix, shorter than normal with a Collie-type snout). Very relaxed dogs, excellent companions. Small dogs are OK in my book as long as they don't yip a lot.

which ever size you guys decide on, do some research. what dogs are ok to leave inside alone (if that's what you plan to do) and if it will be an indoors dog, will it shed?

my pug and german shepard shed all over the suv when i have them in there. and i mean everywhere. meanwhile, my cocker spaniel doesnt shed at all.

and yeah, picking up monster sized dog crap equals teh suck. not to mention how much food they eat but i still love my big dumb dog. i love his scary ass bark
