Pretty decided that when my 17" rubber is gone I will be going back to stock 16" SVT wheels this Spring and I don't like the bulging sidewall look of the 225/50's.
So whats good in 215/50/16's?

If you want sticker than the KDW2, you'll be looking at autocross tires. Other than them, the Toyo T1-R is a good all-around tire, and may come in a size you really like. If you want cheap, the Fuzion ZRi in 225/50R16 will fit fine: it's a narrower 225.

Not the KDW2, the OEM KDW. Which I really liked, price is a bit much at $130/tire shipped from TireRack but my first set wore really good.
Fuzion's are complete crap.

I dunno about complete crap: they're very sticky. They aren't nearly the tire the KDWs are, and have much softer sidewalls, but they are way ahead of Kuhmo Z212s, and at least as good at the AVS ES100, for less money.

Yeah fuzions definitely aren't complete crap. Sidewall is way too soft. If the sidewall was stiffer, I'd buy them again.

I'm guessing you mean Falken ZE-512's? If so, I'll go ahead and disagree with your statement. The Falken's have got to be the best bang for the buck tire out there. The Fuzion tires are nowhere near as sticky. The Falken ZE-512's have awesome treadware, and handle really well in wet weather. I never had to drive with them in the snow, so I can't comment on winter driving with them. I was definitely not impressed with the Fuzions when I drove a buddy's car with them. Handling was sub-par, poor straight line traction, and really don't look all that great.

My KDW2's are on the way right now. I wouldn't have anything else. I can't stand a soft sidewall. You really notice it on this car. Fuzion is stiffer than than my Kumho Supra 712's but still to soft.

No, when I said Kuhmo 712, I meant Kuhmo 712, not Falken Ziex ZE512. Go figure! If you read other posts you'll see I love the ZE512. However, after a lot of racing, I can say that despite the very squishy sidewalls the Fuzions grip just as well as the ZE512 on dry ground, when appropriate pressures are run. They are a great tire FOR THE MONEY. They are dirt cheap and will never be refined or super sticky. Also, driving a buddys car isn't a good way to get a feel for a tire unless you have some real seat time in the same car with other tires. Also, the Fuzions take quite a few heat cycles to really come into their own, so if they were new they wouldn't have stuck well. Both are great tires, but they have different markets. When I need some nice handling, reasonably long-lasting tires that are awesome in the rain for the fiance's Mercedes , it's going to be the Falkens. When I was looking for the cheapest tire that would get me in the running at an autocross, it was the Fuzions. With the advent of the new Hankook Z212, I don't see a lot of market for the Fuzions for people like me and Kremit anymore. The Kooks stick much better and don't cost too much more.
And also, I forgot the Bridgestone S0-3. Awesome, awesome tire. $160 for 205/50R16, but crisp handling (some say better than the Azenis 615!) and nice sticky tread that works well in the rain.

Auto-X Fil: Reread the portion of your post that I quoted. You said Kumho Z212's. So that leads me to believe that you've got 2 or more tires going through your head at the same time. So I probably should have known which tires you were talking about, GO FIGURE! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/idea.gif) So then you go onto talk about some Hancook Z212's.. Or are they Kumho's? Or Falkens? Or....... You see what I'm getting at. It just seems that there's always a debate on CEG between the Falken ZE-512's and the Fuzion Zri's, which is where I drew my conclusion from about your post. Mark
