I bought one for S&G's. I'm curious as to how it's going to look since I have projectors in the high beams. Personally, I like them. I think it makes the car look VERY agressive and pissed off, almost.

Had them, got rid of them. Personally I hate the fact that DRL's use up expensive bulbs. Anyone here want to prematurely burn out their Silverstars ?? I would much rather have a completely seperate light for DRL's. Then if a bulb burns out, you won't have a problem at night. As far as I am concerned, GM is the only one that got it right ( the DRL's on the newer trucks that is )

EVERY Sivlerado or Avalanche, or Sierra I see has atleast one out. It's not liek they are cheap bulbs, either. abotu 7 bucks.
Around here (city), I have almost NEVER used my high beams.

LOL, anyway, AFAIK, my highbeam bulbs are still the stock ones. About 68,000 miles of them being on. Who needs fancy highbeams when you have HIDs? I dont think my highbeams have been on once in MONTHS now.

I think DRL's make them look crosseyed. I hate GM with their stupid amber parking lights as DRLs,it's so annoying to have this brightass orange light coming at you.
Kia got it right though with DRL's: Full low beams with tail lights on ALL THE TIME. My mom has a 2001 Sportage, and as soon as you turn it on,the low beams, parking lamps and tail lights come on,even with the switch in the off position. Absolutely brilliant, and every automaker should follow this. Personally,I hate people who when in inclement weather forget or are too lazt to turn on their full lights and you're following or approaching a car running dark,or with just DRLs. NOT SAFE.

All Toyotas with DRL have automatic headlamps. Even the Corolla has this. It works wonderfully, if at anytime while the car is running the light level drops to near dusk conditions, within 10 seconds the DRLs turn off, and the full array of lamps comes on. The full array of lamps also automatically turns off when you shut off the car.
As you said, there are too many people running around without headlamps on. That's unsafe, but that doesn't make DRLs inherantly unsafe. DRLs are perfectly safe as long as they are coupled with an automatic lighting system. That being said, it should be a federal requirement that all DRL equipped cars have automatic headlamps so people don't do stupid things.
