I drove home a new 2006 Mazda 3s hatchback on Friday. For anybody wondering what their post-Contour vehicle ought to be, the Mazda 3 deserves a very close look.
. . . Two zetec Contours, two blown head gaskets... for some reason I have a Japanese car now.

Good choice of a replacement, I love that little 5 door. Once I graduate from college I'll be looking into either the 3 5-door or the Fusion. What color did you get? I think that the winning blue is sweet.

When I get a better job, I'm gonna look at a Fusion, the 3 does look like a sweet ride tho. If I do get a Fusion down sometime down the road, it won't replace my Stique, I'll keep that thing til it falls apart.....then I'll rebuild. Good luck with the 3.

I'm constantly torn between the 3 and the 6. I like the 3's dashboard, but the 6 all around. One of them (likely the 6s) will "probably" be my Contour replacement.

The 6 is a lot closer to the Contour, and if anyone's considering a Fusion the 6 has to be right up against it as a main alternative... but they both seem to be less reliable and sloppier than the 3.
Mine is silver, by the way.
