the RIAA is playing dirty and they should definitely be pointed out. Trying to set examples by targeting individuals and forcing them to pay fines or face large lawsuits is BS. Especially when trying to set an example and put fear into people out there.
Looks to me like they screwed up and tracked down the wrong person and now they may have to pay the price.
The RIAA is pretty unbiased when it comes to who they go after. They have been, and will continue to sue appx. 15,000 people per month. If you share music (or to a certain extent, download it, but they dont go after that as much), you are potentially a candidate for a lawsuit.
I dont think any even make it to court, as the max. penalty is up to $30,000 PER SONG! Most are settled before hand. Granted they may be overstepping their bounds a bit, but all they are doing is stopping illegal activity.
Im interested to see where this will take things.
