So I tooker out last night.
Initially, I wasnââ?¬â?¢t impressed. Not as much as Iââ?¬â?¢d anticipated, but I think Iââ?¬â?¢ve got a lot of simple improvements thatââ?¬â?¢ll make for the gains Iââ?¬â?¢d hoped for. After about an hour, I started to realize that what gains there were, were not in the top end, but all in the torque curve. Anything over Ã?½ throttle seems to be a waste. And the throttle ââ?¬Ë?tip inââ?¬â?¢ is very sensitive. Like its dead right off idle then boomââ?¬Â¦ gobs of torque, but there isnââ?¬â?¢t much if any of that ââ?¬Ë?rush to redlineââ?¬â?¢ the ole 2.5 had.

Without doubt, its faster. My ADC chip is in the mail, so Im anxious to see what thatll provide. Next Saturday Ill be having the y-pipe modified. Ive still got stock 96 exhaust, and I feel that could be robbing me of the volume of air the 3L needs to move in order to let it breathe in the upper rpm band.

So once the engine is tuned, and I get an exhaust on it, I hope itââ?¬â?¢ll be everything I expected. Iââ?¬â?¢ll be ââ?¬Ë?testingââ?¬â?¢ it more today and let ya know more. Iââ?¬â?¢ve only got about 45min on it so far.

Cheers,

John

PS: BTW. My new SVT suspension really gives it that Audi All Road kinda look.

Congrats on finally getting it going! Exhaust for sure will open it up. obviously you're running 3L heads if you're not already using a chip?

If you don't mind me asking, approximately how much was the install, because I am very seriously considering a 3L swap next winter. You can PM me about that if you want.

Anywhoo, have fun with it,for what's left of the season anyways!
