This has been a problem once or twice before, and I used to be able to just jiggle the nozzel around and it would work. The last three times I've gotten gas though, all at different stations, I can't fill up my tank without a huge hassle. I'll put the pump in and start filling, and it just turns off after like 50 cents. I know my car's not full, because I just got out of it, and it has an eighth of a tank. I've tried jiggling the pump, turning the pump at funny angles, I've tried not pushing the nozzel into the tank all the way. I've got nothing! Nothing works. I know it's not the pumps themselves, because evey single one I go to does this, and people who pull up after me don't have problems. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Could there be a physical problem with my car that would do this?

F111D's method is the simplest...

Also.. try discharging the fuel at the SLOWEST rate possible.. for, say, 60 or 80 cents worth. then increase by 10% or the range for another 80 cents or so; Continue to increase until you are at full/near full speed.

Had this problem before.....just pull the pump out a hair and it will work fine....if you put the pump in to far it will stop right away.
