IAC requires a gasket... they are cheap.. cheaper than the gasket material. (<$1 for the gasket).

Meh Advanced doesn't have the gasket. And I don't like my ford dealer. lol OH and by the way that damn lower bolt is a freakin [censored]. I do not have a socket to get it. I have a short socket that is too short. I have a deep socket that won't fit in that spot. I have a 3 inch extentsion that makes the short socket longer then the deep socket. Is there a 1 inch extension?

Yes, if 1/4 drive, Sears. Or try a box wrench instead of sockets. You might be able to pull the IAC without tearing the gasket if you are lucky.

Have you tried undoing the one you can reach.. then pivoting the entire IAC around, to reach the hidden one?

oh, and btw: my bottom (hidden one) was a 10mm, vice the smaller upper one.

Welcome bscontour . If you replaced both the battery and alternator, then it could be a wiring problem. But first test the voltage of the battery and alternator.

Engine off, lights on for one minute. Battery voltage should be 12 to 12.5.

Engine running, voltage should be 14 to 14.5.

Then check wiring from battery terminals to alternator and ground. Good luck.

Well, here's my .02, and I haven't seen this mentioned in the thread. How's your belt? If its stretched a bit, it may be slipping at higher rpm's causing the low output and flickering lights, etc.

I did everything and lights still flicker and motor's rpms are still up and down even though the battery is 12.5 volts(motor off)and alt is 14.5 volts(motor running). When I give the car the gas (in park or neutral) the lights slow down the flicker as the rpms rise but as soon as I let off the gas the lights flicker badly. When I am driving the car at night the lights will flicker so bad I can't stand it. Please help!!!
