Started it this morning and no rough idling. Even seems that the IAC was working fine. Drove a few miles and the dreaded CEL came on again. Went to AutoZone and had P0171 and P0174 come up. Car idles nicely since I tightened down the EGR bolt. Car idles rough for a moment when it is warm just after I start it. I had the O2 sensors replaced 73000 miles ago. Also the car pings at just about any speed with medium throttle.

GL Duratec? OK, since the it's the time of year when temps start to fall around the country, I'd suspect you have an air (vacuum) leak. The fall always brings out the cars that are due for a set of UIM/LIM gaskets. Symptoms are rough idle when cold, sometimes when the engine warms up, the symptoms go away. Check your vacuum hoses first - especially the one that attaches under the UIM just behind the throttle body & the line that goes to the brake booster. Make sure that gasket on the booster is in OK shape too.

I actually EXPECT my car to give me symptoms when I drive the Dragon this weekend as it will dip into the 40s up in the Smokies.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
