Suggestions???

I don't think the O2 sensors are the issue. Check for vacuum leaks, clean MAF and put in a bottle of gas stabilizer.

From TSB.
P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1 Firewall side) The Adaptive Fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The code is set when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit.

Fuel System:
· Contaminated fuel injectors
· Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel (fuel pump, filter, fuel supply line restrictions)
· Vapor recovery system (VMV)
Induction System:
· MAF contamination
· Air leaks between the MAF and throttle body
· Vacuum leaks
· PCV system concern
· Improperly seated engine oil dipstick
EGR System:
· Leaking gasket
· Stuck EGR valve
· Leaking diaphragm or EVR
Base Engine:
· Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2S
· Secondary air concern
Powertrain Control System:
· PCM concern

P0174 - System Too Lean (Bank 2 Radiator side) Same as DTC P0171, but Bank 2. See Possible Causes for DTC P0171

Edit. Duratec Maintenance for MAF cleaning.

When I drove it later this afternoon, car would start and then just die. It could barely hold the idle. When I tried to give it gas, it barely responded. It only seems at a start it does this. Car seems to idle fine while in traffic. I'll know more tomorrow when I start it up in the morning.

I added a half a can of B-12 to my gas when I filled up at Chevron on Monday night. Car started fine on Tuesday morning and ran good for about 4 miles before CEL came on again. Car started acying up later in the day when car was warm.

Time to spray some carb cleaner on the hoses and UIM/LIM gasket, EGR, etc. area to find the vacuum leak. If it idles faster, you found your leak.

I finally threw in the towel and took it a local garage. The mechanic found it underneath the set of green hoses off of the EGR valve. I could hear it, but I could never locate it. Cost: $40.

Money well spent.

If these are the hoses to the DPFE, you probably have a clogged CAT. The exhaust pressure blows them off. Keep an eye on it.

I had both pre-cats replaced about 75K ago. Main cat is the original. Car runs great now, IAC even works and no more pinging.
