I'm sorry man but that isn't completely true. They are NOT all the same.

Fact is this, asphalt does melt at temperatures which the insides of your doors WILL see if you live in a warm climate. Hell, you don't even have to live in a warm climate. eDead v1 melted to the inside of my brothers door in ONE hot day in Seattle. It was maybe 92 degrees outside. Ruined his door panels and part of the carpet. Car STILL smells like asphalt.

But whatever, if you think using roofing materials (asphalt) is a suitable substitute for properly engineered acoustical damnening material, be my guest. Your $1-200 savings could possibly turn into $500 out the door when you have to replace something ruined by brownbead.

Do yourself a favor and go with a Butyl based product. There are some good ones out there for not much more $$ than brownbead.
