If I might butt in, I'd like to hear more about what the Bible says about this subject. I've been told that one's actions - good or bad - prior to believing in Jesus' sacrifice are basically not a part of the equation. I have a different view, and am curious to hear your thoughts.
James 2:14,26 - works don't = faith for salvation but a true faith, as the article mentions, is going to show obedience to the faith and strong desire to be self-less.
Isa 1:18 - That's right, our past sins are forgotten when you accept the sin atoning ransom sacrifice. And while God may repay one for certain services previously rendered(good works done in harmony with his Will), final divine approval and blessing come to those who continue to serve him wholeheartedly.
