Contours weigh less. They are the faster car (even if just barely) in every competition, as far as I know.

defin contour....i've raced my friends 2000 v6 5spd, he had just a injen intake and some type of exhaust...at the time all i had was a optimized stock tb and a svt filter...nothing really...and i pretty much walked by him..his excuse...i have all kinds of stereo stuff in the trunk...

i believe the cougar is just a little bit heavier, but nothing dramatic. Id say both would run the same times.

The 98 Contour would kick the hell out of a 98 Cougar V6. A 1998 Cougar does not exist.

Cougar weighs slightly less according to these sites. If you search online all the sites post the I4 weight even though it says it is a V6. You need to really look to find the correct V6 weight. It makes more sense that the Normal contour weights slightly under the SVT anyway. Only major things extra are the groud effects and exhaust.

1999 Cougar weighs: 2921 lbs
1998 SVT Contour weighs: 3094 lbs
1998 Contour V6 weighs: 3033

SVT here:

I'd say it is too close to call. It will come down to the driver.
