well the problem is that I only have one car and the tour is it. I have the use of my shop at work for the weekend that I choose to do this and I have to start on friday and finish by sunday. so that is why I think the best thing to do is buy a salvage tranny, have it pressure checked and all that then flush it 3 times and then replace the valve body and tc, that is basically the plan as of right now. and while i have the engine out I'm gonna replace my leaking rear main seal.

as for my original tranny I figured I'd get the factory service manual and start tearing it apart on my own time and completely replace everything and make sure its all right and with the best parts I can then install it at a later date.
