Like I posted earlier,

Why risk it unless the cats (or pre-cats) are plugged?

OK, so theoretically I can remove all the cats, drive all over the country enjoying more horsepower and not have to worry about some sort of "smog test trap" like a speed trap or some gay safety check? remember i said I dont have to worry about passing any emissions tests where I live.

exactly!

it its something within reason, and they see out of state plates, they might not mess with the person because think of the hassle it would be take care of a fix it ticket if youre visiting from MI. but, that doesnt mean they cant do it. if youre driving on the freeway like an A-hole, you can almost expect it. wouldnt worry about the smog at all, unless of course the back of your car shoots smoke like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang even then , i wouldnt worry about it that much. i have never even heard of someone being ticketed for smog, dont think its possible. they cant just say "i think you should have a smog check done to see if youll pass". as Jim said, only during registration and when bringing a vehicle into CA permanently.

I'd be surprised if it did, except for slamming gears at 7000 rpm will get a puff of black smoke, I have 2 mustang gt's, 85 and 90, they both have headers and aftermarket H-pipes with no cats at all... they don't smoke.

So its settled then, My car is having NO cats whatsoever after this weekend.

thanks guys.

Someone PM'd me asking which laws I was talking about and I think I may have answered incorrectly.

I have the tickets to prove that you can get cited for things that may be legal in your home state. I was referring to tinted windows.

I have also been cited for moving violations from out of state, but I think everyone knows that if you speed out of state you can still get a ticket.
