I've had the bar on BAT bushings for about 30k miles and now have reason to believe that they are worn out. Is there any advantage to the energy suspension bushings over the BAT ones? Also, is it hard to shave the bushings to fit onto the larger BAT bar? Couldn't find anything from searching, thanks

They're both made out of the same urethane. BAT = cheaper for the win. I wouldn't buy anything I had to "shave" to fit though. If they don't have specific sizes for that bar than look for a place/product that does.

I have the upgraded subframe and used 13/16" (.812") Energy Suspension bushings and brackets for the BAT 21 mm sway bar. I got the larger of the two brackets they make and the bushings had to be modified. I had to bore out one end of each bushing about 1/4" deep using an 1 1/16" drill for clearance to fit the bars locating tab on each side. What a pain, should have bought the bushings/brackets from Prothane.
If you have the stock Ford bracket just get another BAT one.

I read somewhere on here that prothane bushings are sloted to keep the grease in...that would be awesome!

Anyhow, for the BAT bar, does anyone know if these bushings would be ok?

I've done many rr subframe repairs and mods. Which bushings you use depends on which brackets you have. The profile of the bushings are specifically molded to work with XX brackets. However, the Prothane and ES are the same (shape). If however, you are using the stock brackets only the BAT bushings will fit.

Also, the ES and/or Prothane bushing & bracket set requires major mods to the subframe as they use a 2 bolt attachment. This will require removing the subframe from the car to correctly modify. Don't even attempt it on the car-it will eventually fail. I relate this info. from first hand experience.....

Hmmmmm, that is interesting, the guys at spmotorsports said the ES bushing would be fine, other than having to shave them down a little for the larger bar

Well I guess that really means how do you quantify a "little" bit of shaving....

I'd pay the extra few $$$'s and not have to d**k around with them, but the choice is yours.
