That engine came in 2WD Sport, I believe. 17mpg/city - 22mpg/hwy. (17.5gal tank)
GTP 18mpg/city - 28mpg/hwy (17.5gal tank)
Those are stock numbers.

GTP with premium at $1.18/lt = $70.80
Explorer regular at $1.00/lt = $60.00
both based on a 60 litre fill up

So if you drive 60% highway the:
Explorer - 490km on 60lt 12lt/100km or 19.32 mpg
GTP - 550km on 60lt 10.91lt/100km or 21.68mpg

price/km Explorer - 12.2cents/km, GTP - 14.3cents/km

**if you were getting 10lt/100km hwy then the price/km on the GTP would be 11.8 cents.
