friend just got a 95 zetec contour gl. i drove it and the gas pedal fell to the floor and wont come back is it the throttle return spring and how do i fix it? where is it? she is stuck at my house and lives 1 hour away (highway drive time) have read about a throttle return spring problem before but cant find it in the search. please im desperate for help

If it is the TB end, then Ray's UIM/LIM rebuilding has this picture. Look to see if any of the springs broke or came loose.

If it is at the gas pedal end, look to see if any of the springs broke (might need a flashlight).

Obviously the TB is at the firewall on your Zetec, however.
