Hello All!!

Can anyone give advice on how best to clean (products etc..) around the tire well and onto the body and paint itself. I live in the mountains and I get a lot of tar and tree sap on my car and it is a pain to get off an I do not want to hurt the paint job etc...

Peace to all those who respond!!

I've been using Castrol "Super Clean" Cleaner - Degreaser.

Works really well, and no problems with it hurting any surfaces (ex. paint, plastic, etc.)

Unfortunatley i've never tried it on tree sap, but it's worked on everything else so far. Worth a try, unless someone else has a better product.

Freebird: I use Turtle Wax's Bug & Tar Remover... works fine on black paint. Comes in a white can. Test the spot first to see if water alone will take it off.

I lived in the mountains back in the '80s, fun but the cost of living was a killer. ZZZ.

Believe it or not use WD-40, trust me wink Also the Castrol Superclean is AWESOME stuff but have never used it for bug and tar remover. Good luck smile

I agree w/the wd-40, and after seeing what Castrol Superclean does to alum. (acts like acid) I personally wouldn't use it on paint.
Just my .02
