so the failure of one set of plans excuses the failure of another? i'm well aware of critical path but rescue, recovery, and support plans were executed dismally. i'm not convinced this was because of the number of people who didn't evacuate or those who complained after the fact.

that analogy is a reach. keep in mind the majority of people who stayed behind were mainly in two groups: those who didn't have the means to get out (poor and elderly), and those who had the means to get out but wanted to stay anyway (hard-headed and mostly better off than the first group).

the main points made throughout that post was preparedness, planning, prepare, prepared. and because nola had done that inadequately they deserved the pending devestation.

that to me ridiculous and again i ask, did the US deserve 9/11 and does the incompetence or neglect of a leader (or their staff) make their constituents deserving of harm? this is the same reason we were susceptible to attacks on the twin towers and it was pulled off virtually without a hitch by the terrorists.
